Pelican Universal Travel runs on Safaris.rw, which provides the website, booking, and payment infrastructure — some of what's below is Safaris.rw acting on Pelican Universal Travel's behalf.

What we collect

• Booking & inquiry details: your name, email, phone, and whatever you submit about your trip — dates, party size, special requests.
• Account info: if you create an account to track bookings on this site — your name, phone, email, and booking history here.
• Payment records: transaction references and amounts from Mobile Money or card payments. Full card numbers aren't stored — those are handled directly by the payment processor.

How it's used

• To process your booking or inquiry and get it to Pelican Universal Travel.
• To send booking confirmations, payment receipts, and updates relevant to your trip — by email, SMS, or WhatsApp depending on what's configured.
• To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.
• We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

• Pelican Universal Travel — to fulfill your booking.
• Payment processors (MTN Mobile Money, and card payments) — to collect payment.
• SMS and WhatsApp providers — to deliver confirmations and updates, when those channels are used.
• Safaris.rw, the platform this site runs on — for hosting, payment processing, and support.

Cookies

We use a session cookie if you sign in to an account on this site — that's what keeps you logged in. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Data retention

Booking and account data is kept for as long as needed to provide the service, plus a reasonable period afterward for accounting and dispute-resolution purposes.

Security

Passwords are stored hashed, not in plain text. Sensitive credentials are encrypted at rest. Access to production data is limited to what's needed to operate and support the platform.
